One of the New York State's Office of Mental Health facilities is the South Beach Psychiatric Center. New York Psychiatric nurses will have the opportunity to provide intermediate level inpatient services to persons living in western Brooklyn, southern Staten Island, and Manhattan south of 42nd Street. The center also provides a specialized eight bed inpatient unit for monolingual Chinese persons from Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan.
